Simple Minds - On The Waterfront b/w Hunter And The Hunted (Live) (1983) - single

"Waterfront" is a 1983 single from Simple Minds, the first release from the album Sparkle in the Rain.
Featuring a new, rockier sound, "Waterfront" scaled the charts in various countries around the world, including hitting #1 for two weeks in New Zealand.
It also reached #13 on the UK Singles Charts. Today, it is a live favorite and is regarded as a Simple Minds signature song.
It features a bass line consisting of a single note (D) throughout.
The version as released on 7" vinyl single (and on the original Now That's What I Call Music compilation) differs from versions available on CD.
The original single didn't feature the repetitive bass-line that leads into the main body of the song, but had a "one, two....one, two, three, four.." drumstick count-in by drummer Mel Gaynor.
It has been used for many years as the song Sheffield Wednesday football club come out to before home matches. The version originally played was a live version, however it has since been changed to the studio recording.

Bryan Adams & Tina Turner - It´s Only Love b/w Cuts Like A Knife (1985) - single

"It's Only Love" is a song by Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams, featuring American singer Tina Turner.
It was the sixth and final single from Adams' album Reckless (1984) and was included on Tina Turner's live album Tina Live in Europe (1988), as well as being added to both artists' greatest hits compilations: Adams' Anthology (2005) and Turner's All the Best (2004). It reached number 15 in January, 1986 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and number 29 in the UK. The 12" single included the 1985 live version that would later appear on the 1988 album Tina Live in Europe.Adams told Songfacts that this was his most memorable collaboration of all the ones he has done.
He explained: "Working with Tina Turner was amazing. I used to go to see her in the clubs when I was in my late teens/early 20s before she hit the big time.
It was incredible to watch her." He added: "It was such a privilege to have sung with her, especially since I was only 24 at the time."

Gruppo Sportivo - Out There In the Jungle b/w I Can´t Stop Lovin´ You (1976) - single

Earring-zanger Barry Hay produceert de debuutsingle Out There In The Jungle, die verschijnt bij Polydor.

Loverde & Patrick Cowley – Die Hard Lover b/w My World Is Empty Without You (1982) - single

Frank Loverde (or simply Loverde) (1947–1990) was an American disco singer and musician active during the 1980s. Based in San Francisco, Loverde worked with record producer Patrick Cowley on his greatest success; Die Hard Lover, released in 1982.
Loverde was born in Los Angeles, California in 1947. Frank had two brothers and two sisters. He was from a big Italian family. Born to Frances and Septemo Loverde. He was very close to his family, where music filled the rooms. But some time during the early 1970s he relocated to New York City to take a job as a DJ at the Yellow Fingers nightclub. Loverde continued working at this venue for four years, during this time becoming more interested in music production and playing the guitar. During the 1970s, Frank met Linda Imperial in St. Louis, Missouri while working as a guest DJ at a newly opened night club. In the late 1970s, Loverde re-located to San Francisco with partner Dan Straehorn (a dance choreographer).
Working with Linda Imperial and her sister, Loverde made a name for himself on the San Francisco club scene as both a DJ and performer. During this time, the trio gained a record deal with Prism Records and released Iko-Iko, a record produced by Patrick Cowley and Michael Finden, in 1980. Loverde continued on the club circuit, occasionally working on studio projects, until 1982 when he was given an instrumental track by Patrick Cowley and asked to write lyrics for it. This track became "Die Hard Lover", which was recorded along with Linda Imperial and Peggy Gibbons. The trio, now calling themselves Loverde, had huge success with the single in 1982 and became celebrities in the Hi-NRG music community.

John Lennon - (Just Like) Starting Over b/w Kiss Kiss Kiss (1980) - single

"(Just Like) Starting Over" is a song written and performed by John Lennon for his album, Double Fantasy. The B-side was Yoko Ono's "Kiss Kiss Kiss". It was released as a single on 24 October 1980.
This was the first single released from Double Fantasy, and the first new recording Lennon had released since 1975. It was chosen by Lennon not because he felt it was the best track on the album, but because it was the most appropriate following his five-year absence from the recording industry.
He referred to it during production as the "Elvis/Orbison" track, as he "tongue in cheek" impersonated their vocal styles; at the start of the 2010 "Stripped Down" version of the song, Lennon says "this one's for Gene, and Eddie, and Elvis... and Buddy." The uplifting bell at the intro of the song serves as the antidote to the morose bell sound which opens Lennon's first solo album, Lennon seeing it as his having come full circle.

Hans Vermeulen - I Couldn´t Stay Away From You b/w (Mr.) Es (1976) - single

Hans zelf brengt in 1976 zijn soloplaat I Only Know My Name uit via Mercury, met aan Stevie Wonder verwante muziek.
