Cheryl Lynn - Shake It Up Tonight b/w Baby (1981) - single

Cheryl Lynn (born Lynda Cheryl Smith; March 11, 1957) is an American disco, R&B and soul singer known best for her 1978 disco song, "Got to Be Real". Lynn's singing career began when she was a young girl with her church choir. However, her professional singing career started during 1976 when she obtained a job as a backing vocalist for the national touring company of the musical drama The Wiz.
"Shake It Up Tonight" is a 1981 hit single by Cheryl Lynn. Since the success of her debut hit, "Got to Be Real," the acclaimed R&B-dance track peaked at No. 5 on the Hot Dance Club Play charts and it also scored number 70 on the Billboard charts. "Shake It Up Tonight" appears on Lynn's LP “In the Night”, and was written by Mike and Brenda Sutton. The b-side is "Baby," written by Cheryl Lynn and Ray Parker Jr. The ready-made disco song was a moderate success, completely failing to score UK charts. It became a defining song for Lynn. 7" version of the song was recorded and produced by Ray Parker Jr. who has worked with her.
