Bill Wyman - Je Suis Un Rock Star b/w Rio De Janeiro (1981) - single

"(Si Si) Je Suis un Rock Star" was a solo hit for Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones in 1981. It was placed on his eponymous album of the same year, through A&M Records. Wyman originally recorded the song as a demo for Ian Dury. He was happy to hand it over to someone else because at that juncture he did not want to make solo records. The problem was that no-one would play it to Dury and it would not be played to other artists because they all thought Wyman should do it himself, so he reluctantly cut the track himself, using an accent he later described as "Cockney French".

"Rock the Casbah" is a song by the English punk rock band The Clash, released in 1982. The song was released as the third single from their fifth album, “Combat Rock”. The song gives a fabulist account of a ban on rock music by the Sharif or King being defied by the population, who proceed to "rock the casbah." The King orders jet fighters to bomb any people in violation of the ban. The pilots ignored the orders, and instead played rock music on their cockpit radios. It was inspired by ban on Western music in Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Night - Hot Summer Nights b/w Party Shuffle (1979) - single

Night was a rock band formed in 1978 in Los Angeles whose personnel were veteran British-based session musicians. Night's vocalists Stevie Vann (aka Stevie Lange) and Chris Thompson had met when Vann had provided backing vocals for the 1978 album “Watch” by Manfred Mann's Earth Band then fronted by Thompson. Soon afterwards Thompson invited Vann to join him in a new outfit, Vann's session group known as Bones having recently disbanded and Thompson having reduced his involvement with Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Richard Perry produced two albums by Night for his Planet label. "Hot Summer Night", a cover of a minor Walter Egan hit, featured Lange on lead vocals and gave Night their one international hit.

Cherry Van Gelder-Smith - Sitting In The Cafe b/w Tell Me How (1980) - single

The Meters - Fire On The Bayou b/w Talking´´Bout New Orleans (1976) - single

The Meters are an American funk band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Meters performed and recorded their own music from the late 1960s until 1977. The band played an influential role as backing musicians for other artists, including Lee Dorsey, Robert Palmer, and Dr. John. The Meters acted as the house band for Allen Toussaint's legendary New Orleans Soul classics of the '60s and are responsible for bringing New Orleans second line grooves into popular music. While The Meters rarely enjoyed significant mainstream success, they are considered, along with artists like James Brown, one of the progenitors of funk music and their work is highly influential on many other bands, both their contemporaries and modern musicians working in the funk idiom.
In 1975 Paul McCartney invited the Meters to play at the release party for his “Venus and Mars” album aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California; Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones was in attendance at the event and was greatly taken with the Meters and their sound. The Rolling Stones invited the band to open for them on their Tour of the Americas '75 and Tour of Europe '76. That same year, the Meters recorded one of their most successful albums, “Fire on the Bayou”.
