Donna Summer - Winter Melody / Full Of Empiness (1977) - single

"Winter Melody" is a song by American singer and songwriter Donna Summer released as a single in early-1977 from her “Four Seasons of Love” album. It became a top 30 hit in the UK.
By this time Summer was making her name as the queen of disco music, though this song is a soul ballad.
The song represented the "winter" phase of the concept album, and speaks of a woman struggling to come to terms with the fact that her relationship has ended.
As with much of Summer's material at that time (particularly with songs found on her concept albums), the song played for a considerable amount of time (over six minutes), however, the song was edited for its release as a single.

Donna Summer - Cold Love b/w Grand Illusion (1980) - single

"Cold Love" is a song by American singer Donna Summer, released as the second single from her album “The Wanderer”. It peaked at No. 33 in the Billboard Hot 100. Summer earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
Vocally, this song contrasts with the just previous "The Wanderer" single release - it is very reminiscent of her 1979 disco hit "Hot Stuff" - power belt and hard rock approach. This style was currently in vogue in the early 1980s and used by female vocalists in groups such as Heart and in Pat Benatar's "Hit Me with Your Best Shot".
